Step 1: Attend an Info Session
Info Session Booking Information
Prospective students and their parents/carers (for students under 18) are required to book an Information Session to discover how IDEA helps young people thrive in their education. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet our team and gain a clear understanding of what attending IDEA means for them.

Step 2: Application Meeting
Application Meeting Information
Year 8 or lower?
Year 9 or higher?
Info session attendees interested in our Academy will be invited to book an application meeting and complete an application form.
Your application meeting is an opportunity to discuss whether IDEA is the right fit for you or your young person, and whether you are a good fit for IDEA. It is a chance for us to begin co-designing your personalised pathway. These meetings run for approximately 45 minutes.

Step 3: Enrol
Enrol with IDEAcademy
After the application meeting and if it is determined IDEA is a good fit for you, you will receive a Letter of Offer with instructions on how to complete your enrolment including details of scholarships available if required.
To meet the requirements for an alternative to full-time schooling, IDEA students are enrolled in a full-time training solution, delivered by IDEA through our own private RTO, NUA Learn (RTO code: 46282).
As part of their enrolment at IDEA, students require an Exemption or Notice of Arrangement (depending on their age). The IDEA team supports families with this application process. For more information on Exemptions and Notices of Arrangement, please refer to the Department of Education website https://www.education.wa.edu.au/alternatives-to-full-time-schooling.

Year 8 or lower?
Join our official waitlist and be guaranteed a place in your year of entry pending a successful interview.
A fee of $100 is required to secure a place on our waitlist, payments are made via the waitlist application link.
You will receive an invitation to select an interview time from March of the year preceding your child’s year of entry.
