Harrison is an intelligent, mature, self-motivated teen who struggled to find his voice and build confidence in mainstream schooling. In Year 9, Harrison left school to become an independent learner. He decided to join IDEA in Year 11 and 12 to broaden his network and opportunities, refine his learning pathway and re-connect with a peer group. As part of his journey with IDEA, Harrison completed our Future Ready Certificate IV in Business. He launched a company, One Click Cars, and was successful in reaching the final pitch event at TechStars Startup Weekend (an international event), where he received sponsorship from Capricorn, Australia’s largest automotive cooperative, to take his idea through Plus Eight’s pre-accelerator program. In our flexible and personalised learning environment, Harrison was supported to become a happy and confident young man. He has built a network that will continue to support him as he transitions from Year 12, into the world.
