Dillon is a creative, capable young man whose performance at school was not reflective of his ability or potential. Having dyslexia meant that he needed to receive information in a different manner to a typical standardised classroom. This began to have a negative impact on his self-worth and represented a missed opportunity to develop his niche talents. At IDEA, Dillon was supported to understand how he best learned, and to identify his strengths and align these with a clear post-school pathway. As a result, he saw that his education was relevant, he achieved better academically and gained greater understanding of what he has to offer the world. Dillon completed school very successfully and has now transitioned into studying film.
