After moving to Australia in 2011, she completed a master's degree in science and mathematics education at Curtin University. Since then, she has worked as a curriculum manager, education researcher, and consultant with an interest in project-based "STEAM" (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) education and has presented nationally and internationally on this topic.  She is a PhD candidate; her research focuses on the mechanisms for systems change in education.

Rebecca has developed and led award-winning communities in the education and technology sectors, including CoderDojo WA, a network of community-based computer programming clubs for young people, and Fogarty EDfutures, a systems change initiative focussing on innovation in schools and the future of education.

Rebecca is passionate about equity, human-centred design and systems change in education. She believes that all young people should be able to access a truly personalised education that can help them to find their reason for being in the world.
